Sebastian Theile, clarinettist Sebastian Theile, born at Bamberg, Germany, first studied the clarinet with Wolfgang Teschner, principal clarinettist of Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. From 1991-95 he completed his studies of his instrument with Prof. Hans-Dietrich Klaus at Detmold College of Music, Germany, additionally working as an assistant teacher at the college. After winning various prizes at competitions and attending various master classes, there were to follow cooperations with renowned German orchestras such as Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, Gewandhaus Leipzig, and his engagement at Meininger Hofkapelle of Staatstheater Meiningen. Important artistic impulse has been given to the clarinettist by Prof. Martin Spangenberg (Weimar), Prof. Ralph Manno (Köln), Prof. Ulf Rodenhäuser (Stuttgart) and Prof. Karl-Heinz Steffens (Hannover). Theile's career has been made of a wide range of playing in concert, of his intense activity as a soloist and chamber musician, of radio recordings and broadcasts by WDR, BR, HR and SWR, of lecturing in clarinet master classes in Germany and abroad. The artist has given outstanding recitals, e.g. at Bodensee Festival Germany 2007, at Classic Festival Cape Classic, Cape Town, South Africa, 2007, at Musiksommer Obermain, Bamberg, 2008, at Würzburg, at Bad Kissingen among others. Sebastian Theile's performances have been acknowledged by the press such as "verschwenderische Klangschönheit", "betörende Klangmagie", "fesselnder künstlerischer Ausdruck". Cellist Daniel Müller-Schott, pianist Prof. Markus Becker, Nils Mönkemeyer (viola), Tylor Duncan (baritone), pianist Igor Levit, the Quartetto di Cremona and others have been Theile's partners in concert, which resulted in further solo cooperations e.g. with Gotha Philharmonic Orchestra.
